World Refill Day: Partnering to Save the Planet

World Refill Day: Partnering to Save the Planet

Our favorite day of the year is here! World Refill Day is a global day of action focused on preventing single-use plastic pollution and helping people live with less waste. We partner to save the planet with hundreds of brands to increase refilling. Doing so makes a huge impact and eliminates hundreds of millions of single-use plastic water bottles. This day of action is part of a larger global movement aimed at inspiring action and demonstrating that the world is ready for a refill and reuse REvolution. For PATH, World Refill Day has evolved into a shoutout worldwide, nudging governments, corporations, and businesses of all stripes to join our #refillit REvolution.

The need for worldwide refilling

The single-use plastic problem is mounting. Let's crunch some numbers, shall we? "According to the OECD and World Economic Forum, consumption of plastics will likely grow exponentially—from 460 million metric tons in 2019 to 1,231 million metric tons by 2060." We have another prediction: global single-use plastic usage can shrink as we implement more refilling and less single-use.

That's why we're taking on World Refill Day to promote refilling water bottles to curb the damage caused by disposable beverage containers. The day is marked on the 16th of June annually and serves as a reminder of the importance of reducing our reliance on single-use plastics and moving toward a future we can be proud of.

Ditching disposables

We must steer away from single-use plastic, which means it's time for a major course correction. Let's remember that every problem is really just an opportunity to solve and improve how we do things. We've got a chance here to swap out single-use plastics for sustainable alternatives; with every refill, we're not just quenching our thirst but also pouring a little water on the flames of the global plastic problem. So, let's raise a refillable PATH and commit to ditching disposables!

The power to #refillit

Refilling helps to cut down on waste significantly. Imagine a world where instead of throwing away a plastic bottle every time we're done with it, we have reusable bottles that we can wash and fill up again with our own water. Several cities worldwide with excellent water quality have started banning the sale of single-use plastic bottled water because of the complications arising from generating so much waste.

Supporting a refill culture substantially reduces our carbon footprint. The production and disposal of single-use plastics are both energy-intensive processes, releasing vast amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. By choosing to refill, we bypass these processes, saving energy and, consequently, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Plus, resources that would have been used to make new plastic bottles can be directed elsewhere, leading to more efficient use of resources.

PATH is the refill REvolution

PATH is more than a bottled water brand; it is a movement, a vision, and an opportunity to make a real difference in our world. PATH invites everyone to join the REvolution to refill.

Boldly challenging the status quo of single-use plastics, we're committed to providing accessible bottled water while promoting a lifestyle change that embodies sustainability and conscious consumption, all that looks sleek while doing so.

Reusable products are ingenious in their simplicity. Each PATH bottle is sold pre-filled with ultra-filtered water, but the journey continues. These bottles are designed to be reused, encouraging consumers to refill them with their own water. This eliminates the need for new bottles every time you're thirsty, reducing the waste produced by single-use plastics.

Partnering to save the planet

We're not alone on our mission to turn the tide on plastic waste! PATH is proud to partner up with some of the most renowned brands around the globe, each of them sharing our commitment to eliminating single-use plastic waste.

Over at BMW, they've long been driving towards a greener future. Their partnership with PATH is another step in their journey towards sustainability, championing the use of refillable bottles and contributing to reducing single-use plastics.

The list doesn't stop there. Rivian, Enphase, Kayak, and other big names are all part of our growing alliance. Each one brings something unique to the table, whether it's cutting-edge technology, innovative designs, or a wide-reaching customer base. Together, these partnerships amplify the reach of PATH's impact, helping us to spread the refill revolution far and wide.

In every partnership to save the planet, we seek to create special initiatives and a beautifully designed custom bottle that embodies our shared commitment to sustainability. From refillable water bottles designed for the stylish sportsperson to the eco-conscious motorist, these collaborations demonstrate how sustainability and innovation can be implemented into any brand. The PATH impact

Through our efforts to get a refillable bottle in the hands of every person, we've been able to eliminate millions of single-use water bottles from being used. The refill revolution is a commitment we can make every day.

Here are some simple steps to adopt starting World Refill Day:

  1. Opt for refillable products whenever possible. PATH offers an accessible, convenient option for bottled water that is refillable.
  2. Always carry a reusable water bottle. This small step can drastically reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles that end up in our oceans.
  3. Support businesses that prioritize sustainability. By buying from companies that put the environment first, we're showing businesses what we want them to do.

Every refill counts. Every action matters. Your choice today can make a world of difference tomorrow. Here’s a short list of some of PATH’s partnerships. Happy World Refill Day!
